HIGHWIRE ACTIVITIES/GORGESWING

Time: Open all day (08h00 – 16h00)

Leave your stomach behind! This is only for the totally insane. Your harness is attached to a rope, the rope is attached to the middle of a cable that runs across the full width of the gorge.

Once you are all set, you stand on a platform on the edge of a sheer 120m cliff, say a quick prayer, and jump off – How crazy is that, you jump off and free fall for about 70m straight towards the rocks and river below, then as the rope becomes taught you will start to arc and thankfully swing away from the rocks you were hurtling towards fractions of a seconds ago.

Although it looks like the most insane thing to do, everyone who does it is on such a high afterward. For more information on a zip line, canopy tour and flying fox contact our reservations.

DEVIL’S POOL- ZAMBIA

The Devils Pool itself is a deep natural pool that has been created by thousands of years of erosion, but what is unique about it is that there is a rock ledge on the lip of the Falls, where the water is only a few centimeters deep. This natural barrier is what allows you to jump into the deep pool but not get swept over the edge.

BUNGEE

Surely jumping 111 meters off the Victoria Falls Bridge has to be one of the most challenging, terrifying, crazy things to do. I have not built up the courage yet but from all accounts… It’s a must-do.

MICROLIGHT ZAMBIA

Due to the light nature of these aircraft, flights are always completely dependent on weather conditions. We generally have fine weather in Victoria Falls but during the rainy season between December and March flights do get postponed or canceled.

  • There is a passenger weight limit (100kg). Larger customers please contact us before booking.
  • No cameras are allowed for safety reasons. However, a wing mounted camera is operated by the pilot and photographs are available for purchase at the end of the flight. This wing-mounted camera is very effective allowing the pilot to take pictures of you with the Falls as the background… a unique portrait and memory that will last you a lifetime. The experienced pilots will frequently take snapshots of the most picturesque areas along the flight path, but you can also request special shots. It’s great because you actually have no choice but to just observe, taking in this marvelous spectacle without having to worry about capturing it on film.

ZAMBEZI RIVER CANOEING

Victoria Falls canoeing above the Falls on the upper Zambezi is the perfect activity for those who not only want to see the abundant bird and animal life but also want to experience the peace, tranquillity, and beauty of the Zambezi River. The river is a kilometer wide and in places a bit more. It has an indescribable beauty with crystal clear waters and a myriad of islands and channels to explore. The birdlife is phenomenal with rare beauties like the African Finfoot, half collared kingfisher, palm thrush, and numerous other species. Elephants and other game are often encountered on the Zimbabwean side so whether you are an avid bird watcher, wildlife fan, or just want to experience the peace and tranquillity of this mighty river, I would highly recommend an “Above the Victoria Falls Canoeing Trip” it’s a great way to get to know this outstanding location. Sections of the upper river do have some white water rapids, nothing like the rapids below the falls but enough to get your heart racing. There are day- trips and overnight canoe trips on offer so make sure when booking you are clear on what you prefer. For information about overnight canoe trips contact our reservations.

ELEPHANT EXPERIENCE

You will get the chance to give them a natural treat, learn a little about their individual personalities and what is required to care for them and give them the best possible life. Finally, just relax with refreshments and view elephants do what they do, play, browse, or interact with the others in the herd.
