The Kingdom
The Kingdom Hotel is a 4 star themed resort within walking distance of Victoria Falls, on the Zimbabwean side of the Zambezi. As its name implies, the hotel was designed to look like a royal palace, with architecture based on the Great Zimbabwe Monument in Masvingo. The Kingdom is the sister hotel of The Lost City at Sun City in South Africa, and the themes are very similar to rope bridges, lagoons, waterfalls, and African fantasy-themed structures. The hotel was formerly known as the Makasa Sun and hosted Southern Africa’s best-known casino for 35 years. In 1999 the resort was rebuilt and transformed into The Kingdom as it stands today.
